Quiet, unhurried places worth staying put in — and worth the reluctance to leave on a Sunday.
"Not every good place makes the list. That's rather the point."
Nine criteria, weighted. Nothing publishes below 8.0 — and paying us doesn't move the line.
Would we want to wake up here? Does the place actually have a feeling to it?
Is there a point of view — architecture, craft, a reason it looks the way it does?
Does it actually feel private, or is it beautiful and crowded?
Is there something worth doing, eating, seeing or learning while you're there?
Would you feel looked after, or processed?
Is the food a reason to stay in, or a reason to drive out?
Can we explain the journey honestly — including the difficult parts?
Is the experience worth what it costs? Expensive and exceptional aren't the same thing.
Is there a reason this place exists, and someone behind it who cares?
A place also needs at least 6.5 in Setting, Design and Experience — a high average can't rescue a weak one. A ₹70,000 room can be forgettable. A ₹12,000 house can be extraordinary. Price is information, not a score.
We go, we stay, we eat, and then we argue about whether it belongs. Most don't make it. The ones that do are worth the wait — and the first few are close.
We select a small number of places based on the experience, not the pitch. Tell us about yours — we read every submission ourselves.
